Introduction to drone piloting
Drones are becoming more and more popular. Timely application of drones for business needs will allow you to be one step ahead of your competitors. On the other hand, for the everyday user, the drone will open new horizons in photography and video filming.
In order to safely learn the first steps in drone piloting, not to be afraid to fly independently, as well as to know the rules, everyone is invited to attend an introductory course. The training consists of two parts – theoretical and practical. The practical part involves piloting the drone in a real environment.
Course target
To create an understanding of the basic principles of safe piloting of drones, as well as the fulfillment of the requirements of the legal aspects of flights.
Audience
- Individuals who plan to focus on piloting drones, but do not yet feel confident in their abilities – do not master these systems and the rules related to them;
- Businessmen, managers or other employees who plan to start using drones in their professional activities, but have not yet acquired the necessary knowledge and skills on how to do it correctly or have minimal experience.
At course completion you will be able to
-
Independently prepare the drone for flight, plan the flight route, taking into account risks and restrictions;
-
Carry out a flight in manual mode and safely control the aircraft;
-
Use the drone’s automatic flight modes;
-
Adequately act in more frequent emergency and emergency situations;
-
Understand the requirements for registration, examination, insurance, as well as be up-to-date on where to find information on current flight restrictions in Latvia and elsewhere in the European Union;
-
Familiarize yourself with flight regulations;
-
Continue to learn drone technology.
Training materials
Training materials prepared by BDA for theoretical part and reminders on practical piloting (pre-flight checklist).
PREREQUISITES
You must come to the practical part of the training with your own multirotor drone. If you don’t have your own drone, it is possible to rent it, but the benefits will be more significant if you have an unmanned aerial vehicle that you will continue to use on a daily basis.
Certification exam
Not intended, but taking this course will help prepare you for the A2 subcategory CAA exam.
